Crew Bottles from Crew Supply Co. are some of the best bottles that we’ve used for our mobile bartending business. But how well do they hold up and are they worth the hype?

After 2 years of running a full-time mobile bartending business, our cheap glass mixer bottles that we purchased from Amazon simply weren’t cutting it anymore. They were hard to clean, didn’t feel good in the hand and overall took too much time to clean and refill, especially when we had back-to-back events.

When we first heard about Crew Bottles that had a removable base and were dishwasher safe, we were really excited to give them a try. The 850ml Crew Bottles are a little pricey at $24.99 each, so we purchased a 12-pack that saved us 27%.

Now after a year of putting them through a gauntlet of over 50 events, here’s what we think about them:

The Pros

Modern aesthetic

These bottles look amazing. They are sleek, have multiple color options and come with a wood bottle cork that is a nice touch. Having premium bottles are important to us, because having a clean, professional aesthetic is important in the wedding industry and for content creation.

Cleanability

This is where these bottles shine. They are easy to disassemble and dishwasher safe, which saves us a ton of time on cleanup after a long event. We can easily clean and refill these bottles in a few hours and be ready to go the next day.

Incredibly functional

The long skinny neck is really comfortable in the hand. The bottle pours great and we love pairing them with Crew’s pour spouts, which allows us to create a color-coded system. We also love the leak-proof removable rubber base that prevents the bottles from sliding around.

The Cons

Questionable durability

The bottle is marketed as being engineered from a special durable glass that can withstand extreme temperatures. I suppose that’s accurate in most use cases like in a home or bar/restaurant. However, after constant abuse of loading and unloading these bottles for our events we noticed that the bottles are prone to chipping along the edges of the glass where the removable base meets the bottle. We are really mindful when packing our bottles in ice chests to make sure they aren’t hitting each other during transport, but unfortunately we still have multiple bottles that have chipped and are well past the 60-day warranty.

Design Flaw

The glass chipping, in my opinion, has to do with the bottle’s design. I’m not an engineer, but the edge of the bottle that is prone to chipping is very exposed and doesn’t sit flush with the removable base, which seems like a weak point that could use some protection. Hopefully this issue can be addressed in future designs.

Final Thoughts

These bottles are by far the best we’ve used despite a couple of drawbacks. In most cases, durability and design won’t be an issue and you’ll be happy with your purchase. The time savings alone will keep us coming back and we still highly recommend these bottles for mobile bartending, at home, or industry-use as long as you handle them with care. But based on our requirements, our rating simply leaves some room for improvement.

Rating: 8.5 out of 10
